[225]🫨 Portable Laptop Stand Below S$5 from Shopee SG
I recently picked up a generic folding laptop stand from Shopee SG for exactly S$2.18. My goal wasn't to hold a laptop at all—I wanted to see if this ultra-cheap piece of plastic could solve a specific footprint problem with my live streaming gear. Get Yours Here: [https://s.shopee.sg/9Uxd1VwtGC]
I unboxed and tested it live (streaming via Prism Live on my Samsung S22 Ultra) to see if it was worth the two dollars.
The Problem: The 15-Inch Laptop Wobble
Before using it for my intended purpose, I tested the stand exactly as it is advertised: as a laptop bracket. The product page claims it can support up to 15kg.
It comes as a lightweight, plastic X-frame with DIY silicone non-slip pads that you stick on yourself. When I placed my 15-inch laptop on it and started typing, the whole setup wobbled significantly. Pressing near the top of the screen made it feel like the laptop might tip backward entirely.
If you are looking for a sturdy workstation for a heavy laptop, skip this one.
The Solution: The YoloBox Extreme Slider
My real use case was for my YoloBox Extreme. As a touchscreen device, it needs to be right in front of me while I am broadcasting. But when the stream ends, that device takes up valuable real estate right in the middle of my desk.
Here is the setup hack that worked perfectly:
Set the lowest angle: I locked the stand into its lowest 50-degree inclination.
Remove the bottom friction: I intentionally left the rubber anti-slip pads off the bottom of the stand so the plastic frame sits directly on the desk surface.
Create a slide-away system: The YoloBox fits perfectly on the top brackets. Because the bottom is smooth plastic, I can easily slide the entire unit out to the center of my desk when I go live. When I am done, I push it straight back underneath my main computer monitor.
The Final Verdict
For S$2.18, it is a perfect tactical addition to the studio. It completely failed the laptop test, but it provided the exact dimensions I needed to build a retractable mount for my tablet and streaming gear.
