Day 153 | 100K Youtube Subscribers Challenge

Set habit goals, not outcome goals.

That's my forgotten daily mantra.

No wonder new subscribers rate fall.

Let me amend my challenge targets.

In The Power of Habit, author Charles Duhigg explains the 3 steps required for a habit to be formed.

  • Cue: A trigger that initiates the habit
  • Routine: The action you take (your habit)
  • Reward: The benefit you get from taking the action.
First, start by actually scheduling your habit cue.
Next, create “if-then” statements for your day.

https://www.mindmeister.com/blog/stop-setting-goals-start-building-habits/

  1. When forming a habit, here’s what I suggest: Make the first 30 days a concentrated goal, when you try to make the behavior an ingrained habit. Review it daily, and make sure your focus stays on this habit each day.
  2. After that initial period, during the next 30 days, review the goal every week (instead of daily), your weekly review. If there’s a change in your life that disrupts the habit, go back to the previous level, when you require more focus and energy to make it a habit again. If all is going well, however, just celebrate your continued success and review it next week.
  3. After that, review it once a month or so to make sure you’re still on track. This could go on indefinitely unless you think it’s such an ingrained habit that you won’t need to review it anymore. I would suggest revisiting it now and then, though, just to make sure. If, however, you have problems with the habit, back up to one of the previous two levels.

In Atomic Habits, I recommend using the Two-Minute Rule, which suggests you scale your habits down until they take two minutes or less to perform. You can track whatever habits you want in your habit tracker, but I recommend starting with these super small habits to make sure that you are at least showing up in a small way each day. I’ll share some examples below and break them out by daily, weekly, and monthly habits.

Is there a difference between a habit and a task?

Habit vs task.

Both habit and routine refer to regular and repeated actions in our lives. A habit is an action we do often in a regular and repeated way. Routine is a regular way of doing things in a particular order. The main difference between habit and routine is that habit is recurrent with little or no conscious thought whereas routine requires a high degree of intention and effort.

7 ways to get more YouTube subscribers in 2021

Let's look at the strategies that worked for SEO expert Brian Dean of Backlinko.com. (...and compare what I have done)
  1. Create power playlists organized by outcomes (okay let me do this)
  2. Publish videos longer than 10 minutes because they rank better (not true for my Channel but let's give it a go)
  3. Promote another video in the end screen (done that and still doing)
  4. Change The Branding watermark into a subscribe button (I have that but it's not a button so let's change it)
  5. Focus on quality not quantity (so far so good that's the way I do it)
  6. Reply to every comment immediately (I am doing this consistently)
  7. Write a compelling Channel description that includes the channel overview, the topics covered, who your channel is for, and a call to action to subscribe. (let's change mine)
...and 10 more! See the Backlinko blog post...

    PS:

What am I thankful for right now?
    • The quiet before the storm. Enjoy it. Hear the silence. See the space.  Accept the events.
Is it the weekend yet? Let's clear clutter, spend family time, and complete what I have started before the new week arrives.

What do I need to see to be happy at the end of today?
    • 👉 Complete all YouTube masterclass content.
    What will stop me?
    • Tiny tasks
How will I overcome any obstacle?
    • Just do it
    What's not working?
    • Little tiny but important tasks and reminders.
    • I left out editing sessions in my daily routine.
    • I forgot to promote the iPhone 12 pro, Max.
    • I ignored capcut posting.
    How to overcome?
    • Turn tiny but important tasks into blogs. Since I want more content.
    • Make a daily stream on editing on twitch, FB. And maybe IG and TT.
    What did I learn?
    • Streaming and Youtubing is my lifestyle.
    What did I learn previously?
    • Tiktok tip - If your account is getting a lot of views and you are not engaging with the comments, Tiktok will stop showing your videos to more people. So I started replying the all the comments that were left in the last 3 days.
    • Whatever we post now will see fruits 3 to 6 months later. How long the fruits last depends on the topic.
    • I can do one thing at a time. Cannot multi-task.
    • Drop everything at 5 pm. Switch my mind. Change back tomorrow morning. 🥰
    • Fold time. Inception method. Make a video in a video stream.
    • The top three gimbals people are searching for DJI OM4, Zhiyun smooth 4, and Zhiyun smooth Q2.
    • These are the topics with million searches. Other brand gimbal videos are slowing down my viewership.
    • Should I buy the DJI OM4? Is the DJI OM5 coming out soon? The DJI OM4 was released in August 2020, so expect the DJI OM5 to be announced around August 2021. Buy DJI OM4. The number #1 talked about gimbal.
