7 ways to get more YouTube subscribers in 2021

Let's look at the strategies that worked for SEO expert Brian Dean of Backlinko.com. (...and compare what I have done)
  1. Create power playlists organized by outcomes (okay let me do this)
  2. Publish videos longer than 10 minutes because they rank better (not true for my Channel but let's give it a go)
  3. Promote another video in the end screen (done that and still doing)
  4. Change The Branding watermark into a subscribe button (I have that but it's not a button so let's change it)
  5. Focus on quality not quantity (so far so good that's the way I do it)
  6. Reply to every comment immediately (I am doing this consistently)
  7. Write a compelling Channel description that includes the channel overview, the topics covered, who your channel is for, and a call to action to subscribe. (let's change mine)
...and 10 more! See the Backlinko blog post...

PS:

What am I thankful for right now?
  • Conduct class on Thurs and Fri.
Is it the weekend yet? Let's clear clutter, spend family time, and complete what I have started before the new week arrives.

What do I need to see to be happy at the end of today?
  • See all the πŸ‘‰tasks above.
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max longtail how-to videos
  • Capcut course posting.

What did I learn today?
(LinkedIn-worthy thoughts)

What did I learn previously?
  • Use these 10 query words in front of keywords when researching on Google Search... What, Who, When, Whee, h, How, Which, Will, Are, and Can.
  • I am repeating my mistakes. Trying to edit my live videos and wasting time. Don't.
  • Set habit goals instead of destination goals.
  • Streaming and Youtubing is my lifestyle.
  • Tiktok tip - If your account is getting a lot of views and you are not engaging with the comments, Tiktok will stop showing your videos to more people. So I started replying the all the comments that were left in the last 3 days.
  • Whatever we post now will see fruits 3 to 6 months later. How long the fruits last depends on the topic.
  • I can do one thing at a time. Cannot multi-task.
  • Drop everything at 5 pm. Switch my mind to a different topic. Switchback tomorrow morning. πŸ₯°
  • Fold time. Inception method. Make a video in a video stream.
  • The top three gimbals people are searching for DJI OM4, Zhiyun smooth 4, and Zhiyun smooth Q2.
  • These are the topics with million searches. Other brand gimbal videos are slowing down my viewership.
  • Should I buy the DJI OM4? Is the DJI OM5 coming out soon? The DJI OM4 was released in August 2020, so expect the DJI OM5 to be announced around August 2021. Buy DJI OM4. The number #1 talked about gimbal.

Secrets to grow your YouTube channel... Https://Gum.Co/YTsecrets
It's really about understanding the audience and the algorithm.
  • Top 2 YouTube algorithms.
    • YouTube is trying to predict what the viewer enjoys.
    • YouTube wants to keep the viewer on the platform longer.
  • The Fundamentals to grow your YouTube channel organically.
    1. Identify your audience. Who are they? What do they want? What do they like?
      • Go to a popular YouTube channel in your niche.
      • Go to the Video tab.
      • Sort the video by popularity.
      • Look at the most recent popular videos.
      • This is what the audience likes.
      • Spend time to read the comments.
      • Comments are the Treasure Trove of information.
      • Block out 20 minutes each day to read the comments on popular YouTube videos.
      • Create a similar video on the same topic.
    2. Content research. What are people searching for?
      • Use a free answerthepublic.com.
      • Pick a question and make a video out of it.
      • If you want to rank on Google, this is a great way to do it.
      • The other useful tools for research are Tubebuddy and VidIQ.
      • Or just use the Google search box suggestion list.
      • Use these 10 query words in front of keywords when researching on Google Search... What, Who, When, Whee, h, How, Which, Will, Are, and Can.
    3. Traffic source. Where is the traffic coming from?
      • Traffic comes from browse suggested, search, and external.
      • The majority of traffic comes from browse and suggested.
      • The second most traffic comes from search.
      • Very little comes from external.
      • How do we get our videos to come up in browse and suggested?
        1. You need a video with good content.
        2. You need an SEO title optimized for search. YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world after Google.
        3. You need an eye-grabbing thumbnail. Big Words, big image.
        4. Description and tags. We can write up to 5,000 characters in the description. Write with keywords. Put in your contact information. Put links. Put information about yourself. Use descriptive tags. Tags for the people you serve.  Don't use tags with famous names.
    4. Audience retention. How long do people stay on your video after they click on it?
      • We want to have at least 50% retention.
      • On average, shorter videos have a higher retention rate.
    5. Impressions and CTR.
      • Impressions are when a video appears when someone browses YouTube or is suggested under another video.
      • CTR is when someone clicks on the video.
      • How do I get more impressions?
      • If we want more Impressions we need to increase the retention.
      • YouTube wants to keep people on the platform longer.
      • Try to get people to watch more than one video.
      • How do we increase the CTR click-through rate?
      • Awesome thumbnails and SEO titles.
      • Our goal is to have a 5 to 8% click-through rate.
