Mention (tag) a Channel on YouTube to Show Some Love
Mention a channel? Youtube is suggesting that I mention a channel in my video description.
There is reason given, but I guess if everyone does that, it will help promote each other's channel.
This is what I found in a YouTube community help page... https://support.google.com/youtube/thread/21239142?hl=en
- You can tag creators with @mentions in your video titles and descriptions.
- This feature is available to all creators with more than 1,000 subscribers.
- You need a minimum of 1,000 subscribers to receive @mentions.
- You’ll also be notified when someone @mentions your channel.
- A video that mentions your channel may show up to your fans as a recommendation, but not vice versa.
- Not every mention triggers a notification — only the important ones do, like when a creator with a similar or higher amount of subscribers mentions you.
- You can only mention someone from YouTube Studio on your computer, not on a mobile app yet.
So, I mentioned in a related gardening channel, @gardenideass, which my audience may like. Check out the end of the description in my video... https://youtu.be/6-PwN3qOtRQ... The channel has more subscribers than mine, so they will not be notified.
What will happen to my video or channel because of this mention? Let's check back a few days later to find out the results.
As a future reference, here's today's analytics...
