ACRA RORC Deadline Extension - 31 March 2021
What's this? This is a mandatory task for companies in Singapore to do.
"With effect from 30 July 2020, all companies, foreign companies and limited liability partnerships (LLPs), unless exempted are required to lodge with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), the same information that they presently continue to maintain their Registers Of Registrable Controllers (RORC)..."
By not complying, my business will receive some form of penalty under the law.
Due to COVID-19, the deadline was extended to 29 September 2020... which is tomorrow.
So, last night I scrambled to proceed to the website to fill out information required.
Then, like all bank and government websites, I am instructed to click this and that just to get to where I am supposed to go.
I wonder to myself... why can't they just give me the direct link.
Next, I thought I couldn't follow instructions... BECAUSE I COULDN'T locate the link.
So I left a message with ACRA about MY problem.
This Monday morning...
I checked my email for a reply... none.
I was about to call them by phone.
I went to the website to locate the phone number... then I saw a new notice...
"Update as at 15 September 2020 - The “Update Register of Registrable Controllers (RORC)" transaction in BizFile+ will be suspended until December 2020. The deadline for Companies and Limited Liability Partnerships to file Register of Registrable Controllers information with ACRA would be extended to 31 March 2021."
My story ends here... to be continued in 2021.
See you next year!
Stay safe.
