Yesterday. 50.2K followers. Up 500.
Today. 51.3K followers. Up 1100.
This is what I found out and what I did.
If your account is getting a lot of views and you are not engaging with the comments, Tiktok will stop showing your videos to more people.
So I started replying the all the comments that were left in the last 3 days.
What has Tiktok got to do with YouTube? New YT subscribers are coming from TT.

3 new challenges may be introduced soon if time allows. It's already started and ongoing anyway... Only not reported yet.

YouTube Thumbnail Tip 2021

The 3 most important things about a YouTube video are the 3 Ts

Title
Thumbnail
Watch Time.

Here's the logic:

Title - People search for information by typing words in the search box. The videos with titles that closely match the search keywords will show up.
Thumbnail - When your video appears in the search result, it will be sitting among other similar videos. That's where the thumbnail must stand out and capture attention.
Watch Time - Will the viewer watch your video all the way to the end? Or will they leave your before finishing half your video? The longer they stay, the better the Watch Time. Hence YouTube thinks your video is good and will show it to more people.

This post is about making that thumbnail, and here's what I discovered works best.

Use big title text over an image - The font should be big enough to be seen in a tiny thumbnail.
Ensure the text is easily readable - Use contrasting colors, shadow, outline and backgrounds.
Use fewer words - Summarize your title - We want the viewer to see the title from a quick glance.
Include a list of agenda about your video - Let viewers know what you are going to present even before they play the video.
Place the text on the left hand side - This is so that your title can be seen when it is in a playlist.

My favorite thumbnail maker is Canva. It has a selection of ready-made templates.

You can replace your thumbnail anytime inside your Youtube Creator Studio.

Test different thumbnails and see which one bring in the most views for you.

7 ways to get more YouTube subscribers in 2021

Let's look at the strategies that worked for SEO expert Brian Dean of Backlinko.com. (...and compare what I have done)

Create power playlists organized by outcomes (okay let me do this)
Publish videos longer than 10 minutes because they rank better (not true for my Channel but let's give it a go)
Promote another video in the end screen (done that and still doing)
Change The Branding watermark into a subscribe button (I have that but it's not a button so let's change it)
Focus on quality not quantity (so far so good that's the way I do it)
Reply to every comment immediately (I am doing this consistently)
Write a compelling Channel description that includes the channel overview, the topics covered, who your channel is for, and a call to action to subscribe. (let's change mine)

These are the topics with million searches. Other brand gimbal videos are slowing down my viewership.
Should I buy the DJI OM4? Is the DJI OM5 coming out soon? The DJI OM4 was released in August 2020, so expect the DJI OM5 to be announced around August 2021. Buy DJI OM4. The number #1 talked about gimbal.
